The Shanghai Smart Glasses Industry Alliance successfully held its First General Assembly on December 24, 2025, in Shanghai’s Huangpu District, marking an important milestone in the coordinated development of the city’s smart glasses industry.
The closed-door meeting brought together representatives from the Shanghai Municipal Commission of Economy and Informatization, founding member companies across the smart glasses value chain, leading investment institutions, and industry experts. Centered on the theme “Collaborative Innovation, Building a Shared Ecosystem,”participants discussed pathways for advancing high-quality growth in the smart glasses sector.
The meeting featured focused discussions on policy direction, industry coordination, and ecosystem development, setting a clear course for the Alliance’s future work and accelerating progress toward a more standardized, scenario-driven, and ecosystem-oriented industry framework.

SISEE 2026 to Serve as a Key Industry Exchange Platform
As part of the Alliance’s 2026 annual work plan, the SISEE 2026 has been officially incorporated as a priority initiative.
SISEE 2026 is positioned as a comprehensive platform integrating product showcases, technology exchange, and business matchmaking, with the goal of strengthening collaboration across the upstream and downstream supply chain. The event will support the commercialization of innovation, promote cross-industry cooperation, and contribute to Shanghai’s ambition to become a national hub for smart glasses innovation.
Policy Insights Highlight Long-Term Industry Opportunities
During the assembly, policy representatives provided insights into Shanghai’s latest industrial strategies, including the Action Plan for the High-Quality Development of the Next-Generation Display Industry (2026–2030) and the Action Plan for the High-Quality Development of the Intelligent Terminal Industry (2026–2027).
The briefings emphasized smart glasses as a key form factor for next-generation intelligent terminals, highlighting priority areas such as advanced display technologies (Micro-LED and silicon-based OLED), optical waveguides, display chips, system-level integration, and software–hardware co-optimization. These policies are expected to create a favorable environment for long-term innovation and industrial upgrading.
Alliance Vision: Building a Leading Collaborative Innovation Platform
Representatives of the Alliance outlined its mission to build a domestically leading and internationally visible collaborative innovation platform for the smart glasses industry.
Key focus areas include:
Development of industry platforms and structured collaboration mechanisms
Advancement of standards development and implementation
Promotion of application scenarios and pilot demonstrations
Strengthening ecosystem partnerships and international exchange
Through coordinated action, the Alliance aims to address shared industry challenges and accelerate the transition of smart glasses from early-stage products to scalable consumer and enterprise solutions.
Industry Consensus: AI + XR as the Next-Generation Interface
A central conclusion of the discussion was a shared industry consensus that AI + XR represents the inevitable evolution of smart glasses toward next-generation mobile computing platforms.
Participants highlighted the need for joint efforts across areas such as consumer engagement, materials innovation, cost optimization, content ecosystems, multimodal interaction, and standardization. Building an open, low-power, high-experience, and content-rich smart glasses ecosystem was identified as a critical goal—one that requires coordinated action across the entire industry.
