Consumer-Grade New Journey | Appliance & Electronics World Expo 2026 "Future Vision: Prospects for Ultra-Large-Scale Scenario Applications of Smart Glasses" Summit Forum Successfully Concludes

    In a robust response to Shanghai’s strategic initiative to build “globally influential smart terminal brands” and in precise alignment with the theme “AI Technology, Smart Future” of Appliance & Electronics World Expo 2026, leveraging the strengths of the national-level open platform of the Eastern Hub International Business Cooperation Zone, the “Eyes on the Future – Prospects for Ultra-Large-Scale Scene Applications of Smart Glasses” Summit Forum and the 2nd General Meeting of Shanghai Smart Glasses Industry Alliance were successfully held.


    The summit was hosted by Shanghai Yuanqi Metaverse Industry Promotion Center and Shanghai Smart Glasses Industry Alliance, co-organized by Shanghai Multimedia Industry Association, and supported by strategic media partner 93913. The event brought together leading players from the entire smart glasses industrial chain nationwide, drawing over 100 professional on-site attendees. Centering on cutting-edge technologies, standardization initiatives, ecological cooperation and industry prospects, the forum explored new pathways and possibilities for the large-scale development of the smart glasses industry through a diverse array of sessions including landmark ceremonies, keynote speeches and panel discussions. It stands as a pivotal move and vital practice to accelerate the aggregation of industrial resources, steer industry development trends, and implement municipal policies concerning smart terminals and next-generation new-type displays.

     The forum kicked off with an address by Lu Ye, Deputy Director of the Wireless and Electronic Information Industry Department of Shanghai Municipal Commission of Economy and Informatization. Deputy Director Lu noted that as an integrated innovation carrier integrating advanced display, human-computer interaction and AI large model technologies, smart glasses are transitioning from conceptualization to reality and are poised to become the next critical personal computing hub and lifestyle portal following mobile phones. He stressed that Shanghai has listed smart glasses as a key frontier development priority, committing to building a “rainforest” industrial ecosystem with full support in policy guidance, scenario opening and ecosystem development, and welcoming outstanding enterprises, talents and capital from across the globe to participate in Shanghai’s smart glasses industry.

    Four landmark ceremonies were subsequently staged, pressing the “accelerator” for the construction of Shanghai’s smart glasses industrial ecosystem and demonstrating the sector’s firm resolve to pursue collaborative development.

Founding Ceremony of the Smart Glasses Enterprise Standard Innovation Consortium

     Shanghai Yuanqi Metaverse Industry Promotion Center, together with member units of Shanghai Smart Glasses Industry Alliance including Shanghai Artificial Intelligence Research Institute Co., Ltd., Sunny Aulai Semiconductor Optics Technology (Shanghai) Co., Ltd., UNISOC Technology Co., Ltd., Kunyu Optics Technology Co., Ltd., Shandong Tianyue Advanced Technology Co., Ltd., and Infinite Reality (Shanghai) Technology Co., Ltd., jointly launched the Smart Glasses Enterprise Standard Innovation Consortium. Focusing on joint enterprise standards in the smart glasses sector, the consortium will formulate rapidly verifiable and implementable industry consensus, driving the standardized, high-quality and accelerated development of the industry. The ceremony was witnessed by officials from Shanghai Municipal Administration for Market Regulation and Huangpu District Administration for Market Regulation.

Cross-Region Mutual Recognition Ceremony for Metaverse Achievement Evaluation Standards 

    As the authorized institution of China’s first metaverse achievement evaluation standard T/MIA 0001-2025 Specification for Classification and Value Potential Evaluation of Metaverse Achievements, Shanghai Multimedia Industry Association reached a mutual recognition agreement with Zhejiang Digital Economy Federation, Nanjing Metaverse Industry Association and Hefei Metaverse Industry Association. The parties will jointly promote the coordination and unification of metaverse achievement evaluation standards and achievement transformation across four regions in the Yangtze River Delta, break down regional industrial development barriers, and facilitate integrated innovation between the metaverse and its entry-level terminal – the smart glasses industry. Shanghai Yuanqi Metaverse Industry Promotion Center will continue to coordinate and organize relevant initiatives.

Presentation Ceremony for the First Batch of Metaverse Achievement Certificates   

     The implementation measures of T/MIA 0001-2025 Specification for Classification and Value Potential Evaluation of Metaverse Achievements were officially released recently by the four regional associations and Yuanqi Center, with supporting certificate applications launched simultaneously. At the forum, Yuanqi Center issued the first batch of metaverse achievement certificates to six enterprises that passed the standard-based evaluation: Shanghai Shenteng Information Technology Co., Ltd., Shanghai Fengyuzhu Culture Technology Co., Ltd., VisionSTAR Information Technology (Shanghai) Co., Ltd., Shanghai SAI Medical Technology Co., Ltd., Shanghai Suihuan Intelligent Technology Co., Ltd., and Chenguang Phantom (Shanghai) Culture Technology Co., Ltd., publicly recognizing their outstanding accomplishments in metaverse technological innovation, product popularization and scenario application. The ceremony was witnessed by leaders of the four regional associations.

Launching Ceremony of Shanghai International Smart Eyewear Industry Expo 2026 (SISEE)   

    Finally, 2026 Shanghai International Smart Eyewear Industry Conference & Multi-Terminal AI Collaborative Ecology Expo (SISEE) was officially launched at the forum. Organizations including Shanghai Yuanqi Metaverse Industry Promotion Center, Metaverse Working Committee of China Association for International Economic & Technical Cooperation, Cultural Metaverse Committee of China Cultural Industry Association, Shanghai Institute of Quality and Standardization, Shanghai Digital Creative & Metaverse Industry Alliance, and Shanghai Tiansheng Exhibition Service Co., Ltd. jointly participated in the launch. All parties will collaborate to build an international industrial event in the smart glasses sector, further elevating Shanghai’s global influence and industry voice in the smart glasses field. Keynote Speeches: Unlocking Core Technologies and Market Insights   

     In the keynote session, five industry leaders shared cutting-edge insights and practical achievements across five dimensions: complete device mass production, key components, content industrialization, vertical scenario development and patient capital, offering diversified ideas for industrial development.

    Zhang Yadong, CTO of Shenzhen Weiguang Electronic Technology Co., Ltd., delivered a speech entitled From “Disposable Purchase” to “Timeless Utility”: How AI Smart Glasses Open the Door to the 100-Million-Level Market Through Innovation, analyzing current pain points in the smart glasses market. He elaborated on how his brand Xuanjing MLVision builds core competitiveness through modular design, driving products from short-term consumption to long-term usage and tapping into the potential of the 100-million-level consumer market.

    Wang Ting, Board Secretary of Shanghai Kunyu Optics Technology Co., Ltd., focused on Full-Scale Mass Production of Diffractive Waveguides, explaining the development status of diffractive waveguides as the core display technology for AR smart glasses and sharing technological breakthroughs and practical experience in large-scale production, laying a technical foundation for the popularization of consumer-grade AR smart glasses.

    Peng Qijun, Vice President of Shengshi Wanhe (Shanghai) Culture Technology Co., Ltd., introduced the SkyRoam Spatial Computing Content Creation Platform from a developer’s perspective, expounding on the new demands and methods for smart glasses content creation in the spatial computing era, providing important support for the XR industry’s content ecosystem and a reference for the industrialized production of smart glasses content.

    Meng Weiqi, CEO of Beijing Landinfotech Co., Ltd., delivered a speech Large-Scale Scenario Deployment: Thousand-Unit Rollout of Edge XR+AI Applications, sharing the path for large-scale implementation of smart glasses in industrial scenarios based on practical cases of full-chain digitalization in the industrial metaverse, demonstrating the immense value of smart glasses in the industrial sector.

    Wang Xi, Managing Director of Shanghai SDG Innovation Fund, shared Patient Capital Empowers Key Opportunities in the New Stage of the Smart Glasses Industry, interpreting the investment logic of the smart glasses industry in its new development stage from a capital perspective and emphasizing the vital role of patient capital in technological R&D and industrial incubation, injecting capital confidence into industrial development.

Panel Discussion: Building Shanghai’s Smart Glasses “Rainforest” Ecosystem

    

    In the subsequent high-level panel discussion, Duan Mu Haiying, Director of Shanghai Yuanqi Metaverse Industry Promotion Center, invited five distinguished guests: Ji Yuan, General Manager of Yunguang Microelectronics (Shanghai) Co., Ltd.; Wang Yaru, Marketing Director of Tianyue Advanced Technology Co., Ltd.; Wang Xi, Managing Director of Shanghai SDG Innovation Fund; Zhang Teng, CEO of Playmy Technology Co., Ltd.; and Zuo Dongdong, Head of IoT Business Unit of Shanghai Agora Technology Co., Ltd.     Combining their corporate strategies and industry insights, the guests put forward suggestions on AI+XR integration, basic research and development, eyewear form factors, industrial collaboration, scenario expansion, capital empowerment and government-enterprise linkage. They unanimously agreed that Shanghai boasts a complete smart terminal industrial ecosystem, abundant scientific and technological resources and robust policy support. To build a smart glasses “rainforest” ecosystem, it is essential to act as a bridge between government and enterprises, promote in-depth integration of the entire industrial chain, encourage technological innovation and scenario trials, attract more high-quality enterprises, talents and capital, and form an industrial system featuring “symbiosis, co-prosperity and collaborative development”.

Closed-Door Meeting Deepens Cooperation for Practical Industrial Development   

    Following the summit, the 2nd General Meeting of Shanghai Smart Glasses Industry Alliance was convened. Relevant officials from the Wireless and Electronic Information Industry Department of Shanghai Municipal Commission of Economy and Informatization, representatives of more than 30 core industrial chain enterprises and industry organizations attended the meeting.

    The meeting focused on core topics including municipal industrial policy interpretation, alliance ecological cooperation and deliberation on joint enterprise standard proposals. Attending enterprises spoke freely and leveraged their respective strengths, brainstorming on shared industry issues based on their own advantages, and preliminary consensus was reached on multiple fronts on the spot.
